I am Kendra Miller, wife and mother to two kiddos. I have been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) – Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) since 2009. In addition to one-on-one coaching, I’ve taught dance classes, instructed water aerobics and led local fitness groups. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that I had my first taste SLAM.

My first introduction to SLAM was Virtual. I saw posts from friends about Stroller Strong Moms and was super jealous of this amazing group of mamas with similar interests to mine. When the opportunity to participate virtually came around I immediately signed up. Unable to deliver my daughter in my hometown, I traveled to Anchorage to await her arrival. Not knowing my way around a new town at 9 months pregnant, I visited SLAM Anchorage and was overwhelmed with the warm welcome I received from the strong mamas in the Last Frontier. They welcomed me, a total stranger, into their group and truly made me feel like SLAMily. I then realized that Stroller Strong Moms isn’t just about a sweaty workout; it’s also about cultivating healthy friendships that withstand the tests of motherhood. From that point forward, I wanted more to do with Stroller Strong Moms and signed up for every Virtual SLAM available. When we decided to move south, I knew I wanted to create a similar environment for mothers to thrive in the Land of the Sky.

My path in the field of exercise and nutrition began as a young ballerina.  I learned early on that, in order to perform at my best, I needed to keep my body in prime condition.  I soon figured out that this meant healthy meals and endurance snacks to keep me going through long rehearsals.  I later took that same drive and determination I held on stage and applied it to other areas of life, including motherhood.  In the years since, I have developed a strong passion for healthy living, delicious food and outdoor fitness activities.  SLAM has helped to grow my desire for a healthy lifestyle even more. I now hope to instill that same hunger in everyone I meet through Stroller Strong Moms – Asheville.
