SLAM Boss

Rosa Stevens | Rosa@sweatlikeamother.com

Rosa is an Army wife, mom to three sweet boys and one grumpy old dog, musician, and certified SLAMaholic! She is from Burlington, NC and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Appalachian State University. She is an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor and is CPR & First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. Rosa also holds a To Birth and Back coaching certificate.

Rosa first found SLAM in late 2019 while living in Oklahoma, at SLAM Lawton (now Lawton-Fort Sill). As someone who struggled to find a type of exercise she enjoyed, SLAM checked ALL the boxes for her, and she was completely hooked. After their family moved to Virginia, she joined SLAM Newport News as a founding member in January 2021, began coaching in 2022, and became the Newport News SLAMboss in June 2023!

The military moved the Stevens Family once again in summer of 2024, to El Paso, Texas. Rosa jumped right into the SLAM El Paso community upon arrival, soon after she began coaching. When the opportunity arose to become the SLAMboss (owner), she couldn’t say no! Rosa became the owner of SLAM El Paso in January 2025 and is enjoying spreading the SLAM love all over Sun City!

SLAM truly transformed Rosa’s life, and she loves sharing the power of community and movement with other Mamas! Her  favorite ways to SLAM are heavy weights and running with friends!

Such an amazing group of mothers who support and encourage each other to do the best they can and then some! I’ve only been here a month and I’m loving it! So happy I found out about such an amazing and life-changing group

My daughter and I attended our first class today and I have to say, I’m upset I waited a whole month! This class was awesome! The workout was great, the instructor and all of the mamas were so welcoming and friendly. I loved every bit of it.
