The El Paso Team

Gloria Moreno | Instructor

Gloria is a born and raised El Pasoan whose love and passion for fitness, running, and outdoor activities began as a child. After having her daughter and becoming a mother in 2018, she was in search of a workout routine that would include her daughter. From the first day at Stroller Strong Moms El Paso she knew she found “her team” and was hooked to this tribe of supportive mom athletes.

In 2019, she completed the NETA Group Fitness Instructor Certification, is also CPR/AED certified through American Heart Association, and is a Pregnant and Postpartum Athletic Coach. Gloria also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing.

From the age of 7, Gloria has been a competitive runner, competing nationally on her family’s USA Track & Field Junior Olympics team. Her love of running has continued through her adulthood and has crowned herself the “Queen of 5ks”. She is also proud of completing the 26.2 mile Bataan Memorial Death March (on sand!) and since joining SSM continues to set her sights on more challenging distances and courses.

Outside of Stroller Strong Moms, you can find Gloria hiking or biking with her husband & daughter, baking dog treats to share at the local Farmers Markets and enjoying time with her large El Paso family.

Her passion for fitness, motherhood, and community makes her a supportive and encouraging instructor for El Paso Stroller Strong Moms.

Lavon Egleton | Yoga Instructor

Lavon is a military spouse, runner, yogi, and general sweat enthusiast! She’s run several half marathons and one full. You can also find her in the gym, on a spin bike, or hiking with her hubby & fur-son Roman. Seeking a counterbalance to running and lifting weights, she began practicing yoga about 5 years ago.  Her passion for yoga grew as she saw the increased strength and balance, both on and off her mat that her yoga practice brought her. She recently completed the 200 hr yoga teacher training at Surya Yoga in El Paso, TX, and became a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher.  She’s eager to share the many benefits yoga can offer active individuals of all ages and stages in life.

Olivia Ham | Instructor

Olivia Ham is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor with a certification in CPR/AED through The American Red Cross. She is a proud military wife, and mother of two. Olivia is originally from Seattle, Washington. She met her husband while he was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA in 2007. They have since called Fort Benning, GA, and Fort Rucker, AL home, before arriving in El Paso in 2018.

When Olivia arrived in El Paso she was 32 weeks pregnant and was excited to see that there was an active Stroller Strong Moms group. She had watched her sister flourish as both a mother and athlete, at another Stroller Strong Moms location, and couldn’t wait to join! When her daughter was 10 weeks old, Olivia laced up her shoes and attended her first class. She gave it her all and never looked back. This supportive and welcoming group of strong moms was exactly what she needed.

After struggling for years to find a fitness routine that worked for her, it all finally clicked here in El Paso. With the guidance and knowledge of the team (and with her SLAM sisters cheering her on) Olivia achieved health and fitness goals she had only dreamed of. She completed her first half marathon in February of 2020 and can’t wait to run her next race! Olivia’s favorite ways to get her sweat on are HIIT style workouts, heavyweight classes, and running.

When she is not at SLAM you can find Olivia playing with her two daughters, hanging out with her SLAM sisters, drinking coffee, cruising the aisles of Target, and exploring the many beautiful trails in El Paso.

Kirstyn Purcell | Instructor

Kirstyn Purcell is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor with a certification in CPR/AED & First Aid through The American Red Cross. Kirstyn was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, moved to America at the age of six, and grew up in Cedarburg, WI. Following high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, where she was a Division I swim athlete; competing in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 and 200 yard butterfly. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Communications and Economics.

Prior to moving to El Paso, the Purcell family lived on the East coast in Bethesda, MD and New York City. She is a proud military medical wife, and a mother of two adorable children, August and Addie. Kirstyn has been an active SLAM member since August of 2019 – she slammed through her pregnancy and came back strong postpartum.

Kirstyn has completed a half marathon, four 10k races and multiple 5k races. Her favorite thing about SLAM (besides the amazing and challenging workouts) is the community, which provides a strong network of hard working mothers’ with a common goal of living a healthy, active lifestyle. Kirstyn’s favorite way to SLAM includes chatting with her SLAM sisters all throughout class, HIIT workouts, running classes and kettlebell classes. When Kirstyn isn’t SLAMing, you can most likely find her spending time with her family, swimming, hiking numerous trails in El Paso or Cloudcroft, NM, taking spin classes, or binge watching bravo TV with a Topo Chico!

Lindsey Mangini | Instructor

Lindsey, a proud Army wife and mother of two, is an ACE certified group fitness instructor and is CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Lindsey was a competitive cheerleader in high school and college. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from The Ohio State University.

After getting married, Lindsey and her husband moved to San Antonio, Texas and had their first baby. While adjusting to her new role as a mom, Lindsey tried at home workouts but knew something was missing.  A year later, Stroller Strong Moms started in San Antonio. Lindsey attended the first preview class and finally found what she was missing! She fell in love with the community, challenge, and opportunity for growth as a mother athlete.

Two years, another baby, and 250 SLAM classes later, Lindsey and her family moved to El Paso. She can’t wait to continue her SLAM journey as an instructor and meet all the moms and kiddos of Sun City. Lindsey has completed 1 Tough Mudder and 2 half marathons. She’s excited to plan new challenging goals and see what she can accomplish with the love and support of her family and SLAM sisters! Her other favorite ways to sweat include HITT workouts, Yoga, and dancing like no one is watching. Outside of SLAM, you can find Lindsey baking, drinking coffee, and spending time with her family.

My daughter and I attended our first class today and I have to say, I’m upset I waited a whole month! This class was awesome! The workout was great, the instructor and all of the mamas were so welcoming and friendly. I loved every bit of it.
