Aloha! My name is Mandy Imboden. I am a wife, a mama of 2, and now the proud owner of SLAM Honolulu! I am an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor with Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED certification, and 500HR Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. Before I found S.L.A.M., I served in the Army Reserves for 8 years and worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and Clinical Microbiologist.

After my youngest was born, I struggled with postpartum depression and briefly returned to work. However, when he was just over a year old, I came home full time and attempted different workout groups in my area looking for community. I had trouble with school pick-ups, making it on time and, since they were running based, I felt left behind and I didn’t feel the sense of community I was looking for. It wasn’t until we moved to Hawaii and I was told about S.L.A.M. Honolulu, where I finally found my village. Having S.L.A.M. through the highs and lows of this journey called life has been the best thing I ever did for myself and my family. I didn’t gain friends, I gained family and it’s just what I needed!

S.L.A.M. is more than a workout group, it’s socialization for myself and my kids, killer workouts, and best of all, the opportunity to start my days with sunshine, smiles, and sweat! I’ve experienced this community as a member, an instructor, and now I’m beyond excited to continue these experiences with Honolulu mamas as a SLAM Boss!

My wish is to keep fostering the community where mamas walk in and immediately feel like they belong. Like they’ve found a piece to the puzzle they’ve been missing. My favorite ways to sweat like a mother are running, yoga, HIIT and fun, sweaty S.L.A.M. classes!
