Hey y’all! I’m so excited to be bringing S.L.A.M. back to San Antonio!
My name is Lauren, and I’m a mom of four boys, an Army spouse, educator, and now the proud owner of S.L.A.M. San Antonio. Our family’s military journey has taken us all over the country, but every move has taught me something valuable about resilience, community, and starting over.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from Washington State University and my Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Oregon University. I hold K-12 Teaching English as a Second Language certification and a 6-12 English teaching certification. Before stepping into fitness, I spent years in education and teaching is still a huge part of who I am. I love helping people grow in confidence, learn new skills, and realize they’re capable of more than they thought.
I first found mom focused group fitness in 2021 while we were stationed at Fort Benning. I had recently moved away from my entire extended family for the first time, experienced my (third) birth but this time without my usual support system, and was navigating early motherhood during an unprecedented global pandemic. It was a season that felt isolating and overwhelming in many ways.
Stroller fitness changed that for me.

It gave me a reason to get outside every day, even when it was hot, messy, or inconvenient. It gave me a place to move my body, challenge myself, and do hard things alongside other women. Most importantly, it filled a social and emotional gap I desperately needed filled. It reminded me how important neighbors, friendships, and community are especially in military life, where support systems often have to be rebuilt from scratch.
When I joined S.L.A.M. San Antonio in 2022, I quickly fell in love with so much more than the workouts. I loved the Moms’ Night Out events, the friendships being built outside of class, and the way women genuinely showed up for one another. I was coming to class every day, determined to reach my 100 Sweat Club goal before our next military move. At the same time, I was running three days a week outside of class and training for my first half marathon even though I had never considered myself a runner. During my time at SLAM Antonio I set and achieved goals I never would have attempted alone.

After that, I continued my journey with S.L.A.M. Leavenworth. What I loved there was the depth of knowledge and experience from the owner and coaching team, the creativity of themed classes, and the intentional inclusion of moms who may only be in town for a year because of military life. They understood that even short seasons matter, and that every mom deserves connection, support, and a place to belong right away.
Then I heard S.L.A.M. San Antonio was closing.
That news hit me harder than I expected. I knew San Antonio wouldn’t feel the same without this community, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that it needed to continue. Our family already knew we’d be heading back to the Alamo City so that moment became the real catalyst for me. It pushed me to stop waiting until I felt “ready” and start working toward becoming a coach and business owner.

At the time, I didn’t feel fully equipped. But over the last year, I’ve worked hard to prepare, learn, grow, and step into leadership. I’ve earned my ACE Group Fitness certification, started pursuing other continuing education certifications, began coaching, asked a million questions, and along the way developed the confidence to lead this next chapter.
Now, I feel ready.
Ready to build something meaningful. Ready to serve moms in this city. Ready to create a space where women can come exactly as they are and leave stronger—in body, mind, and community.
S.L.A.M. has never been about being the strongest, fastest, or best in the room. I’m certainly not any of those things. It’s about showing up, working hard, supporting each other, and discovering what’s possible when you keep going.
That’s what I want to bring back to San Antonio.
I can’t wait to sweat with you, grow with you, and build this community together!
