Kara Daniels | charlotte@sweatlikeamother.com
Kara first joined SLAM when she moved to El Paso, TX in Summer 2019. She is a certified ACE Group Fitness Instructor, a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach, a To Birth and Back Movement Professional, and a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. She is also CPR/First Aid certified.

Her aspirations to teach high school business were put on pause when she married her college sweetheart and moved overseas. Kara is a mother of three daughters and a son, and fur mom to 2 cats and 1 dog. If she isn’t SLAMing, she’s spending time with her family, most likely outside. She loves to travel, cook, and binge watch Bravo tv shows.

The North Charlotte Team
Angela Mitchell | Instructor
Angela first started with SLAM last October when Kara opened SLAM North Charlotte and was hooked from the start! She quickly realized it was much easier navigating motherhood with a village!
Angela graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelors in Exercise Science then received her degree for Physical Therapist Assistant. She is certified with ACE as a Group Fitness Instructor and holds her CPR/First Aid Certification through the American Red Cross.
When Angela is at SLAM you can find her with her 1 year old snack queen Hayley. Her favorite way to sweat is heavies day!
“S.L.A.M. came into my life at the perfect time and has helped me grow in so many ways. It has helped me find my confidence, push my limits, and set goals all while surrounding myself by strong supportive women.
I’m so incredibly grateful for this community! The best thing about being an instructor is being able to help other mamas work towards their goals and discover how strong they are!”
Brooke first started SLAM in March 2021 and loved it immediately! She had been looking for a community of mom’s to “do life with” and she knew she found it!
Brooke graduated from The University of Michigan with her degree in Elementary Education where she also played on the tennis team all 4 years. She is a certified group fitness instructor through ACE and has her CPR certification.
Brooke comes to SLAM with 2 year old wild and crazy Lucas and 6 month old Ellie Belly Girl. Brooke loves all SLAM classes but is a sucker for some battle ropes on heavies day!
“SLAM has changed my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but it’s true. I’ve always dreamed of having a community where I felt safe going through the daily highs and lows of motherhood. Fitness has been part of my life since I was a little girl and to be able to show my kids what hard work looks like, is so special. I’m so thankful to be an instructor to be able to encourage and challenge other moms to push themselves and grow more and more confident in all that they can accomplish.”

Every mama needs a S.L.A.M. community in their life. It is more than just a workout group that help get you physically strong, but the support system you gain will strengthen your mind, body, and soul! No matter how you parent these mamas are here with open arms ready to love on you and your babies! SWEAT LIKE A MOTHER you won’t regret it!!
S.L.A.M. has allowed me to find my love of fitness again. This is not just an exercise class, it’s a community. I feel so comfortable working out as it is at your pace and your ability. Kara is such a great instructor! I highly recommend for everyone especially anyone postpartum looking for away to get back as Kara makes sure you are safely working out!
